Usually size 5 years, for a height of 105–110 cm. If he's taller than 110 cm, choose size 6 years (111–116 cm). Pay particular attention to sleeve length: on long-sleeved T-shirts, it's the first thing to get too short.

The hardest-wearing is a jersey T-shirt with a flat front print, with no appliqués that could snag. Wash it inside out on a cold wash so the design lasts. For playtime, long sleeves on their own work best in spring and autumn, and under a sweatshirt in winter.

Wash the T-shirt inside out, in cold water and without tumble drying, and follow the care label. Don't iron directly over the print; if you need to, iron it inside out. Separating lights and darks also helps keep the garment looking new for longer.
